Manipulating Colour

The focus on our course at the moment is colour and colour trends. In groups we had to pick a colour scheme; from this we had to select a specific colour palette. My group started with neutrals then chose to focus on dusky pinks and greys, as we thought this was a much more modern interpretation on a colour scheme where most would think of beiges and nudes.

In the seminar today we used Photoshop to manipulate the colours of an image to suit our colour scheme. Here are some of the functions I used to alter the colours. Afterwards I focused on using just the luminosity tool to explore my whole colour palette rather than just focus on achieving one colour like I did for the first lot of samples.

As I have experience in Photoshop I finished the tasks fairly quickly so moved on to take images from Pinterest and altered the colours on these paint splatters using the selective colour tool.

Pinterest has been a large part of our course so far and a great way to begin to organise our thoughts and ideas for the projects.  I'd really recommend checking it out if you haven't already! You can find my Pinterest here.
